Welcome to Cave Babies!
The primal parenting class for families in the 21st century.
Cave Babies is a one off class designed to complement traditional antenatal classes. It provides a primal perspective on parenting, which marries modern practices with biological programming.
Human babies are often compared to other mammals, and found to be helpless as infants – seemingly unable to move themselves from place to place, or even support their own heads. However this is not entirely accurate. Much like foals are programmed to stand up and suckle from their mothers, human babies are programmed to move and find the breast, but this programming is easily and sadly often interrupted.
Our class looks at what your baby is biologically programmed to expect, and how to work with their natural patterns and expectations, right from those first precious moments with your baby (or babies!).
Just like you can’t go to France and know, that without practice you can immediately speak French, having a baby does’t mean that you will necessarily immediately know how to care for, and feed your new baby.

Whats Included?
A brief overview of your choices in birth.
The art of nesting and feeling prepared.
Primal parenting skills that support modern day parenting.
Holding your baby for the first time, and the importance of the golden hour.

Exploring infant feeding and why common practice might be hindering success.
Caring for your baby – getting set up to thrive.
Settling your baby, safe sleep, and creating helpful habits.
Emotional wellbeing after birth – what’s normal anyway?
Cave babies is a parenting class that provides practical skills and evidence based information, to best prepare you for those moments immediately after birth, and beyond.
The Cave Babies antenatal class does not cover what to expect during pregnancy and labour. If you would like to learn more about birthing your baby or babies, we would highly recommend contacting your local Doula, or speaking with your midwife, who will know your local options.
